Information Prescriptions Implementation
Following the 2009 National Cancer Patient Information Pathways Delivery Pilots we have moved into the Implementation Phase for Cancer Information Prescriptions (IPs).
Over the next two years there will be two main elements of the implementation: a 'mainstream' roll-out and an 'intensive' roll-out.
Mainstream roll-out
As part of the mainstream roll-out there will be a package of support to help individuals who want to learn how to use the new NHS Choice Information Delivery tool, how to implement Cancer IPs locally, and also how to go forward and share this knowledge.
Intensive roll-out
As part of the intensive roll-out there will be a series of 'Beacon' and 'Wave' sites. Every Trust in the country should apply to be in one of these waves. During this period, an IP Facilitator will come into your Trust and help you to set up the policies and procedures necessary to make IPs work successfully in your locality.
